Garden Tool Advisor is an independent website about garden and lawn tools. We publish selection guides that help home gardeners, homeowners and anyone maintaining their own yard choose equipment that fits their needs, with a focus on choosing hand tools, mowers, trimmers, blowers, saws and watering gear by yard size, task and power type, including battery platforms.

Who we are

Garden Tool Advisor was founded in 2026 and is run by a small, independent editorial team. We are an online-only publication. We are not owned by, and do not work on behalf of, any manufacturer, brand or retailer, and no company reviews or approves our guides before they are published.

What we cover

Our guides are organized by need in the garden tools section. Each guide explains which features matter for a given task, which trade-offs to expect and who a type of product is and is not a good fit for.

How we research

Our content is written by the Garden Tool Advisor editorial team. We base our guides on manufacturer specifications and operator’s manuals, and official safety resources such as OSHA guidance for powered equipment. We compare published specifications and explain them in plain language.

We are clear about the limits of our work. Unless an article explicitly describes our own use of a product, our guides are research-based and are not hands-on product tests. We do not invent test results, ratings or statistics. Read our Editorial Policy for details.

Safety and scope

We do not give instructions for mixing or applying pesticides or other chemicals, and we do not replace the operator’s manual for powered tools. Chainsaws and other cutting equipment should be used only as the manufacturer directs, with the protective equipment it specifies.

How we are funded
